Housing association Bällstaån

The housing association Bällstaån is located in Sundbyberg. The new eight-story buildings was completed in 2017. It boasts an attention-grabbing façade of Canadian cedar panels from Frøslev Træ. The panels give the buildings an elegant and natural look that works well in the cityscape of Sundbyberg.

The natural façade allows the two buildings to blend in with the beautiful nature that surrounds them and Strandparken. Cedar starts as a golden-brown colour which will patinate over time into a beautiful, silver-grey colour. The two new houses contain flats for a multitude of different people, but a stylish design and high ceilings were paramount, regardless of whether the flats are large or small.

The project has breathed new life into an already well-known residential area, and the distinctive façades draw the eye of residents as well as passers-by. The choice of materials was carefully considered to withstand the Swedish elements without compromising the architectural look.

ORIGO arkitekter and contractor Creator Bygg & Projektledning brought the interesting building to life in the small, Swedish municipality. The balconies invite you to enjoy the beautiful area, which can also be seen in the photos of photographer Devis Bionaz.
