Kluboeen 076

Klubøen

Klubøen is a gathering place for people in Vejle Harbour and was completed in 2014. It houses maritime clubs, the popular restaurant Remouladen, facilities for sailors, offices and premises for meetings and classes. There is a roof terrace with a striking view of the fjord and the waterfront, and there is equipment for strength training. In the summer, the area that connects Klubøen with the marina has an ice-cream kiosk and good opportunities to play.

The club is covered with black-painted ThermoWood from Frøslev Træ which gives the building a nice contrast to the glittering sea. The sharp lines also work well with the wavy movements of the water and boats. The wooden terrace is also made of ThermoWood. The terrace offers plenty of seating where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The project received the Vejle Architecture Award in 2015 and was exhibited at the architectural biennial in the summer of 2016.

Architect TRANSFORM helped the building owner, Vejle Municipality, complete the unique project. Visitors as well as passers-by will quickly understand its popularity and award-winning nature.
