This private residence in Aarup was completed in 2018. The use of Canadian cedar shingles from Frøslev Træ adds a distinctive and unique look that draws on the forms and colours of nature while being modern and stylish.

Canadian cedar experiences a natural patination in the Danish climate. Over the years, the golden-brown wood will transform into a more subdued greyish colour, allowing the building to remain special and appear new and exciting for many years unless it is treated with a pigmented façade oil.

The use of the wood results in a rustic look that lets the classic style meet modern design and create a very special building that looks like a natural extension of the surrounding area.

The architect used for this project was privately hired by the building owner, and they worked together to create a very special home. Thanks to the cedar from Frøslev Træ, it will remain as a beautiful take on new modern architecture for many years to come.
