Sergelhuset (1 Av 13)

Sergelhuset, Stockholm

Sergelhuset in Stockholm is a large building with flats in the heart of Stockholm, clad with cedar wood shingles from Frøslev Træ. The construction was completed in 2019, and the hexagon-patterned cedar shingles between the windows adds a unique identity to the building that goes hand in hand with the rest of the cityscape.

The building façade in particular has an exciting architectural look that not only attracts residents but also passers-by so they can enjoy the beautiful building. There are cedar panels on the inside of the balconies and brown steel features that make Sergelhuset difficult to overlook – in the good way.

The large project does not only have flats but also offices, restaurants and shops. A large staircase leads down to the always busy Sergels Torg, and the final outcome is a huge group of buildings that make the otherwise anonymous street of Malmskillnadsgatan a popular area for residents as well as businesspersons.

Architect Equator worked together with contractor NCC to bring the vision of the building owner, Vasakronan, to life, and the result is a project that will adorn the heart of Stockholm for a long time. The many beautiful pictures of the project were taken by photographer Devis Bionaz.
