Valla Berså

If you like fun and challenging architecture, this project is for you!

Valla Berså in Linköping was completed in 2017, and the unique, round shape of the building has resulted in exciting and creative solutions. The Canadian cedar from Frøslev Træ has been used on the façade in such a way that the windows of the construction could still be of a normal size and allow plenty of natural light inside the building.

The exciting thing about the cedar in this building is that it varies in shades. In addition, it will patinate over the years and change its look, so the construction will never be boring and monotonous to look at. The natural wooden façade brings nature into Linköping in a unique and stylish way.

‘We want to use Valla Berså to show that it is possible to build sustainable multi-family houses in wood with rental housing and an exciting architecture,’ building owner Lindstén Fastigheter AB says about the exciting project.

Architects Winell and Jern created this exciting building with contractor Ahlin & Ekeroth in collaboration with building owner Lindstén Fastigheter. Devis Bionaz took the beautiful pictures that show the round building.

Wood and profiles

  • The round building is clad in Canadian cedar.
