Malet Vitskoel Kloster 01

Vitskøl Kloster

Skovhuset and the boarding School at Vitskøl Kloster were built in 2019 in Ranum. The entire building is made of wood and has red pantiles. Untreated spruce profiles with rough surfaces from Frøslev Træ were used to clad the façade, and they have subsequently been painted in a very beautiful vermilion red colour.

The colour gives the building a quite distinctive look, and it also brings warmth and cosiness to the users of the building. The house resembles a plank-built house, making it feel like home.

Horizontal profiles of varying widths were used for the façade, combined with details of vertically mounted profiles. Bertelsen & Scheving Arkitekter designed the beautiful building. Helene Høyer Mikkelsen took all the beautiful pictures.

The building is mentioned in the periodical ARKITEKTEN June 2020 under ‘Arkitektens favoritter 2016-2019’ (Architects’ Favourites 2016-2019).
